Executive Staff

Richard Miles CEO [view my profile here]

Richard joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area after a successful 25-year career as an entrepreneur and CEO in the private sector. His passion for our mission is unparalleled. "I've been a Little Brother for over 40 years, and my Big Brother is still someone I look up to." He brings energy and 25 years of building businesses from startup to success, strategic planning, and tactical hands-on leadership to shape our newly consolidated Bay Area-wide agency.

Joanne Gold Chief Development Officer [view my profile here]

A former Marketing Director, Joanne began working exclusively with non-profits after she was recruited by the L.A. Free Clinic to assist with the organization’s fundraising activities.  Since then, she has raised millions of dollars for such organizations as the L.A. Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the City of Hope Cancer Center, where she served as Associate Vice President of Development.  Highlights of her career included leading successful regional fundraising campaigns in San Francisco, Seattle and Portland, and developing cause-related marketing programs with companies such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Kellogg’s, and See’s Candies.
