Kids turn into the people around them.
Kids with positive adult role models have the potential for greatness. They graduate from school, get jobs, and lead productive, healthy lives.
But for many kids in the Bay Area, the adults they see most are gangbangers and drug dealers.
For these kids, the neighborhood is as far as the world goes. They’ve never seen the beach or the redwoods, never been to a museum or a zoo. High school is optional and prison is a small mistake away.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area is the lifeline that connects these kids with caring adult role models. We make and support these relationships for as long as it takes.

Our 5 Year Plan
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area was formed in 2006. At that time, we were serving less than 500 matches a year. By June of 2007, we have grown to serve 1,000 kids. Our intention is to grow to serve 5,000 kids a year by 2010, and we're well on our way.
