Up, Up & Away! The Annual Big Event Gala
Up, Up & Away!, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area’s annual fundraising dinner auction gala, held April 12 in San Francisco’s Palace Hotel, was a BIG success, raising over $450,000 for BBBSBA’s mentoring programs serving Bay Area youth.

Over 400 Bay Area business and community leaders came together in support of the agency mission and local youth mentoring. Keynote speaker Cory Booker, Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, treated attendees to an inspiring speech highlighting the power of mentoring and calling supporters to action.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America President and CEO Charles Pierson was also in attendance, updating supporters on the continuing efforts of the national agency and telling his own mentoring stories.
In keeping with tradition, four Inspirational Matches were honored at the event:

Big Sister Patty & Little Sister Sarah
