Similar Backgrounds, Shared Successes

Big Brother Salvador and Little Brother Jose were happy to find each other. Jose was only four years old when his father departed the U.S., leaving Jose’s mother to care for him. Sal, also raised by a single mother, felt there was something missing in his life. Thanks to a caring teacher who encouraged Jose’s mother to sign him up for Big Brothers Big Sisters, the two met when Jose was eight years old.

Now, one year later, you can tell by their big smiles that they’re a perfect match. They’ve visited the Aviation Museum, the Academy of Sciences, gone hiking, and have even given back to their community by volunteering on Earth Day. Though they enjoyed all these activities, Jose and Sal’s favorite thing to do is to get together for a game of soccer.
