S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation Makes Large Grant for Media Campaign to Recruit Bigs
This generous $250,000 grant will fund a multi-year marketing and advertising campaign to recruit Bigs, which is the pivotal strategic element in ensuring that we realize our vision of serving twice as many at-risk children throughout our five-county service area by 2018.
Pilot Program Pairs Bigs and Littles in the Workplace
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area and approximately 20 Gap employees are partnering to launch an innovative, year-long pilot program. The Workplace Mentoring Program will pair 20 San Francisco teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 with approximately 20 Gap San Francisco employee mentors.
BBBSBA Partners with the City and County of San Francisco and sf.citi
On January 14 San Francisco Supervisors Malia Cohen and David Chiu announced a partnership between the City and County of San Francisco, sf.citi and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area to reduce the existing waiting list of San Francisco children seeking mentors from 83 to zero.
On February 6th, the Junior Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area hosted their annual Winter meet and greet to recruit future members of the board and host "Bigs" for a drink. It was a great night and the Junior Board received a record number of member applications.
The Amigos Latinos of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area held their 4th annual ‘Spread the Love’ event on February 6th at Antologia Vinoteca in San Francisco. The event was a great success and we are hugely thankful to all that turned out to support us.
