Sponsor change in your community.
Volunteering is fun and rewarding, big time.
Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most enjoyable things you’ll ever do. Not to mention, one of the most fulfilling. You have the opportunity to help shape a child’s future for the better by empowering them to achieve. And the best part is, it’s actually a lot of fun. You and your Little can share the kinds of activities you already like to do.
Make an Impact
Have you ever thought of yourself as a mentor? Many of the Bigs in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program didn't either, but they are impacting the lives of kids in the Bay Area every single day. By just being a consistent, genuine, trusted friend, YOU can make an impact beyond your imagination. Because of positive Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Little Brothers and Little Sisters in our programs are MORE LIKELY to:
Have better attitudes towards school
Get along better with adults and peers
Have better self-esteem
Have a better sense of their future
Am I Ready To Be a Big?
As you think about becoming a Big, please consider the following questions:
Am I at least 21 years of age?
Am I in a stable place in my life?
Can I commit to the program for at least one year (understanding the enrollment and matching process could take several months)?
Will I be able to meet with my Little 2-4 times per month, every month?
Do I have a valid CA driver’s license, or valid ID card?
If you answered YES to all of these questions, we encourage you to take the next step to learn more and apply to become a Big!
Not Ready? Not Sure? It takes more than volunteers to make our matches happen!
