For an idea of what our annual gala is like, see videos and photos from our 2024 event below.

On Friday, April 19, 2024, nearly 300 guests joined forces to support our program and celebrate how seemingly little things make a BIG impact in the lives of Bay Area youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area Board Chair Todd Lachman shared the story of his 30+ year Match with his Little, Tremaine, who also told us his side of the story via video. Alumni Little and CEO of Union Square Alliance Marisa Rodriguez spoke about her deep, lasting bond with her Big, Terri. We commemorated this year’s Honored Matches with awards and toasted to our program and its future. Together, we raised an amazing $780,000 to meet the ever-growing demand for our mentoring services – all provided at no cost to the children and families enrolled in our programs.

Our Honored Matches of the Year

Lacey was enrolled in the program at six years old. Eight years later, she and her Big Kayla have a true sisterly bond, where Lacey knows she can be herself with Kayla no matter what.
Valentina and Darren were Matched nearly four years ago. Big Darren has stood by Valentina through her transition and other life changes, and Valentina will be graduating from high school this summer.
Chris and Manuel have been Matched for nearly seven years. They bonded over their love of baseball, and their connection has only strengthened through difficult life experiences.
