Thank you for your interest in joining Big Brother Big Sisters of the Bay Area’s Associate Board! We’re excited to introduce you to our organization, share our associate board members’ responsibilities, and describe the application process.
The major initiative for the Associate Board is to elevate Big Brothers Big Sisters in every aspect of the organization: awareness building, skill-based volunteerism, community engagement, and strategic partnerships. Each Associate Board member has a certain focus depending on their area of expertise.
For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sister has operated under the believe that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes and supports meaningful mentoring relationships between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and youth (“Littles”), ages 6-18, in communities across the country to develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area has been providing Bay Area youth with professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships since 1958. We serve nine Bay Area counties including Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Solano, and Sonoma.
To see the impact we have had in our community, read our 2021 Impact Report.
